yes, surveys like this are useful. It's easy to be taken in by nationalist rhetoric of we're number one and forget the pep squad of economic and social progress is a cheerleader not a factician.

The worst thing is that - in Australia at least - so many people really do believe that the feminist movement has accomplished all it set out to do and should go away quietly now. This despite much very obvious evidence to the contrary.
